Secret Files
The following are classified documents from the UN-EDF
Files inherited from the X-Com initiative prove that Humans were abducted by the Grays over several decades. The early abductions were mostly research related, as they wanted a better understanding of us. Later abductions were "requirements" of Humans into the Gray's army. There is evidence that some went voluntarily while others did not. Total numbers are hard to establish, about 160 mostly men, are believed to have been taken from the USA between 1960-1990.
The Grays seem to find our aggressive and creative qualities very valuable to their war effort.
But who are they fighting? We had no info on this until 1999.
In 1999 a big battle in space was fought between an alien invasion fleet and the Arcadia (an ancient alien ship left to protect Earth some 100,000 years ago). The attackers were destroyed, while the Arcadia was heavily damaged and crashed on Earth.
One of the first acts of the newly established UN-EDF was to send a mission into orbit to investigate the wreckage of the attaching crafts. It was discovered that they were not Grays or Saurian. They were a form of lobster like aliens. Speculation was high that they were the enemy that the Grays were fighting. But no proof was discovered at that time. The scientists named them Mollusc Sapiens, we mostly called them Clawful Critters or Lobstrons, because it sounds about right.
EDF planners were seriously worried about a follow up attack. Examination of the destroyed craft showed they were well in advance of us, but not unstoppable. There had been about 30 ships involved in the battle. There was reason to worry but also reason to be hopeful, if we had enough time we could assemble a credible defense force.
Luck was on our side.
In 2006 the X-66 entered service a fully combat ready version of the VS-mini. It was not a real warship but it was our first fighting craft in space.
In 2008, a UFO was detected in the outer solar system. The EDF was put on high alert. However nothing much happened. It sat out there for several weeks, until we dispatched a pair of drones to go have a closer look. The UFO jumped to FTL as they neared it. But the imagery confirmed it was similar to the attackers of 1999, a Lobstron ship.
The incident served to push the UN into doubling the EDF budget.
While it is true that the Arcadia was fully repaired in 2009 and now back on duty guarding the solar system, the EDF did not feel it could count on the ship, because it was under AI control, and crewed by some volunteers selected by the AI. The Arcadia quite bluntly said "We protect Humanity, we do not take orders from it."
In 2018, at Wolf 359, one of the Rangers encountered a Lobstron ship. As per standing orders, we ran with out attempt to communicate or fight. A later, very careful mission to the system did not find any presence of the Lobstron. If they have any sort of base there, it is very well hidden.
In 2021 a similar event to that of 2008 happened. This time a pair Percheron patrol craft were sent, armed and ready for a fight. At long range the Lobstron ship fired off a few missiles. After our point defense took out the missiles, the target jumped away. Another scouting mission.
The EDF assumed it was only a matter of time before the enemy made another serious attack on Earth. The UN was pushed to be ready for it.

In 2023 another incursion happened. This time the scout ship appeared near the asteroid belt. Several Percheron which were on patrol responded quickly, while a Defender class warship moved in several hours behind them. The enemy scout was not going to run this time. It took on the patrol craft, killing both of them as soon as they got into effective beam weapon range (1 light second).
It waited for the Defender to arrive, firing missiles at medium range, then accelerating fast to reach beam range. Our warship returned missile fire, launched its squadron of fighters, and then tried to keep a reasonable distance, as follow up waves of missiles were fired. (the captain was under orders not to use the main rail guns until nearly at the 1 LS mark, as command wanted to keep them a surprise) The Lobstron ship was overwhelmed as the fighters and second wave of missiles converged on it. The Defender took no damage, its point defense easily taking out the enemy missiles.
Then as the ship stood down from red alert, the second scout who had been hiding a million KM away, mad its jump to FTL and away with the battle report.
The entire event was something of a success and a failure at the same time.
